The Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking public comments no later than Jan. 6, 2012, for use in developing U.S. negotiating positions at the 16th regular meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, which is tentatively scheduled to be held in March 2013 in Thailand. FWS is inviting information and recommendations on resolutions, decisions and agenda items the U.S. might consider submitting for discussion at COP 16. Once preliminary negotiating positions have been developed they will be posted on the FWS Web site and a public meeting will be announced.
