Export Council Meetings to Review National Export Initiative
The President’s Export Council and the PEC Subcommittee on Export Administration have scheduled meetings for next month to discuss ways to increase exports as well as related employment.
The PECSEA provides advice on matters pertinent to those portions of the Export Administration Act that deal with policies of encouraging trade with all countries with which the U.S. has diplomatic or trading relations and of controlling trade for national security and foreign policy reasons. The PECSEA will hold an open meeting Nov. 14 in Washington, D.C., to review deliverables for the PEC and discuss the subcommittee’s 2012 work plan. This meeting will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis, and requests to participate in this manner are due no later than Nov. 7. In addition, a limited number of seats will be available at the public session, but reservations are not accepted.
The PEC will then hold an open meeting Nov. 16 in Washington, D.C., to discuss topics related to the National Export Initiative and provide advice regarding how to promote U.S. exports, jobs and growth. This meeting can also be viewed by live webcast.
