Nature of Notice: Initiation of antidumping and countervailing duty investigations.
Details: The merchandise subject to these investigations is closed (not open top) van containers exceeding 14.63 meters (48 feet) but generally measuring 16.154 meters (53 feet) in exterior length that are designed for the intermodal transport of goods other than bulk liquids within North America primarily by rail or road vehicle or by a combination of rail and road vehicle. All domestic containers within the described specifications are included, regardless of whether they enter the U.S. in a final assembled condition or as an unassembled kit or substantially complete container that requires additional manipulation or processing after entry to be made ready for use. The following items are excluded: refrigerated containers; trailers where the cargo box and rear wheeled chassis are of integrated construction and the cargo box of the unit may not be separated from the chassis for further intermodal transport; and container chassis, whether or not imported with domestic containers.

Nature of Notice: Scheduling of final phase of antidumping and countervailing injury investigations.
Details: Pre-hearing staff report will be placed in the non-public record Aug. 25 and a public version will be issued thereafter. A hearing will be held Sept. 9 and requests to appear at the hearing are due by Sept. 4. Pre-hearing briefs are due by Sept. 2, post-hearing briefs are due by Sept. 17, and final comments are due by Oct. 3.
