Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

Section 337 Investigation of Computers and Computer Peripheral Devices Terminated. On May 2, 2012, the ITC  instituted a Section 337 investigation of certain computers, computer peripheral devices, components thereof and products containing the same from Taiwan, Japan, France and Korea. On Aug. 2, 2013, the administrative law judge assigned to this case found a Section 337 violation with respect to one of several patents under consideration. The ITC subsequently decided to review this decision and has now decided to terminate the investigation with a finding of no violation.

Section 337 Investigation of Tires and Products Containing the Same Amended. The ITC on Sept. 20 instituted a Section 337 investigation of certain tires and products containing the same from China and Thailand. The complainants subsequently requested that the ALJ in charge amend the complaint and notice of investigation to add three additional respondents. The ALJ on Nov. 21 granted the complainants’ motion with respect to one of the respondents and the ITC has decided not to review this decision.
