Air Cargo Shipment Surcharge Settlement

Monday, February 03, 2014

Two additional airlines have agreed to pay over $200 million to settle a lawsuit for allegedly fixing the price of surcharges included in the cost of airfreight shipping services. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York has just approved a settlement involving Korean Air and Singapore Airlines. Any companies that directly purchased Airfreight Shipping Services for shipments to, from or within the United States from ANY of the Defendants in the lawsuit during the period of January 1, 2000 up to and including September 11, 2006 may file a claim to receive money from this settlement. This is the fourth major settlement in the air cargo surcharge litigation before the Eastern District of New York.
