ILONA MEYER serves as Director of Consulting Services for Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services, Inc., resident in the Detroit office. Ms. Meyer has more than 30 years’ experience in customs compliance, focusing on the automotive industry and special trade programs. Her experience has included managing all aspects of import activity, from pre-release to post-liquidation, for one of the largest importers in the U.S. She has also worked on origin verification and determination processes and application of the rules for country of origin determination for NAFTA, AALA, CAFE and the Federal Trade Commission. She has presented over 100 seminars in the U.S., Canada and Mexico on NAFTA and customs compliance on behalf of STTAS. She is also fluent in German.
