Trade Remedies

Relief under the antidumping or countervailing duty (AD/CVD) laws, and reliance on Sections 201, 301, or 337 of the 1974 Tariff Act, represent the primary vehicles available to companies that believe their ability to distribute their products is being hampered by unfair price competition or market distorting practices caused by imports. ST&R advises and counsels clients in all aspects of these and other trade relief statutes. Through our Washington office, we closely monitor pending actions, enabling us to move quickly to help clients protect their interests or take advantage of new opportunities.

Our client representation includes advice and counsel on AD/CVD investigations, administrative reviews, new shipper reviews, scope reviews, and sunset reviews; litigation before the Court of International Trade and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals in challenges of AD/CVD proceedings; Section 301 unfair trade practice proceedings before the USTR; Section 201 escape clause (“safeguard”) proceedings before the USTR; and Section 337 trademark infringement cases before the ITC and USTR.
