Agriculture Trade Policy

Agricultural trade policy issues are a part of ST&R’s core business, and we have an in-depth and far-reaching knowledge that comes from years of experience in addressing client concerns in this area. Our professionals have advised WTO panels on agricultural disputes and assisted clients in the interpretation of WTO obligations and preparation for dispute resolution proceedings.

In today’s security-conscious world, international trade in food and other agricultural products is quickly gaining a high profile. New rules and regulations in the U.S. and abroad impose often complex requirements on exporters, shippers, importers, and others in the supply chain. ST&R’s insight and expertise on the U.S. Bioterrorism Act and its implementation led to our creation of the International Food Coalition, a group of exporters, importers, and distributors of food products that has been instrumental in clarifying the requirements of the new rules.
