JENNIFER MULVENY is Senior Director, Trade and Legislative Affairs, for Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Washington, D.C., office. She represents clients on trade issues before Congress, the White House and federal government agencies. She also provides guidance on moving trade policy through the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government.

Before returning to the Firm in 2006, Ms. Mulveny was deputy assistant U.S. trade representative for congressional affairs. In this position she met regularly with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to advance the president’s trade agenda, most notably passage of the U.S.-Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement. She also handled matters relating to Africa, South Asia and the Americas as well as textiles, labor, trade capacity building, agriculture, small business and WTO affairs. She has also worked on the staff of the House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee, handling trade matters relating to China, the Caribbean and NAFTA in addition to customs and WTO issues.

Prior to accepting the position at USTR, Ms. Mulveny was senior consultant for international trade and government affairs at ST&R. She assisted clients in drafting and pursuing passage of trade legislation, specializing in textile, labor and agriculture issues. She also worked closely with the governments and private sectors in Egypt, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka and El Salvador in their efforts to gain trade preferences in the United States. Her private sector experience also includes time as a trade lobbyist for the New York-based apparel firm Warnaco Inc.
